Meet HomeLearnersNetwork Guide, Amber Santos! Muralist, musician, dancer, hockey mama and amateur surfer, Amber is a person of many talents. She identified as an artist at an early age, and explores art in all its forms with a focus on visual arts. Having spent over 20 years as a professional artist and over 12 years teaching art with SelfDesign Learning Community (SDLC), she’s grateful she can create safe spaces for kids to express themselves and connect with others as a Guide for HomeLearners Network.
Gabe, an aspiring graphic designer and typographer and a member of our Class of 2022, is starting college this fall to continue his studies in graphic design and interactive media.
2021 was a busy year at SelfDesign. We launched new programs, new learner offerings, and dug deeply into our ongoing commitment to our guiding philosophy and to each other.
BC Ministry of Education inspectors found SelfDesign Learning Community complies with all relevant provincial requirements and standards, allowing us to continue operating as a recognized, provincially funded Group 1 Independent School in B.C.
