We have a jam-packed schedule of activities that cater to a variety of interests including art, design, music and creative writing! Kids not only get to pursue their interests, they get to experience hands-on fun with other kids.

🕹️ Video Game Design Level 2 with UME Academy

    • November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 (5 sessions)
    • Ages 7-12

In this series, kids will continue building their game design skills in Unity through engaging, challenge-based lessons and projects. They’ll learn along with their peers while giving and receiving feedback and playing each other’s games. (Must have completed Video Game Design Lvl 1 to take this course.)

🧮 Seasonal STEAM Hour November with Alecyn

    • November 1, 8, 15, 22 (4 sessions – come to one or all!)
    • Ages 7-10

Kids will do hands-on, seasonally-based STEAM projects each week. November 1: Shadow Theatre, November 8: Snowy Slime, November 15: Snow Globe in a Jar, November 22: Origami Paper Lanterns

✈️ Mini Makers with Alecyn

    • November 1, 8, 15, 22 (4 sessions)
    • Ages 5-10

Kids will explore the Engineering Design Process and will practice using their imagination to solve exciting design problems. Makers will learn about shapes in architecture, make flying machine launchers, use physics to make art, and create a prototype to solve a real-life design problem.

🎨 Composition in Art with Amber

    • November 1, 8, 15, 22 (4 sessions)
    • Ages 10-13

Have your kids ever wondered what makes an interesting composition in art? Are they interested in learning ways to attract an audience to their art? Kids will play with various mixed media techniques to explore background/foreground, contrast, depth, flow, mirroring, the rule of thirds and more.

🪭 Origami Club with Alecyn

    • November 1, 8, 15, 22 (4 sessions)
    • Ages 8-14

Kids will learn the basic Origami folds and make awesome paper sculptures every week. Kids will learn to fold an inflatable balloon, a jumping frog, paper animals, and other classic designs.

✍️ Creative Writing Club with Alecyn

    • November 7, 14, 21, 28 (4 sessions)
    • Ages 10-14

Kids will have a ton of fun learning about writing and responding to wild and zany writing prompts. Kids will learn about the elements of language, play writing games and will get to share fun and silly stories.

🖌️ Watercolour Advent Calendar with Amber

    • Wednesdays or Thursdays in November
    • Ages 9-13

This traditional advent calendar is a joyful way to get excited about the holiday season. Kids will incorporate the holiday symbols that are meaningful to them as they mark the days of December using watercolour painting.

🫎 Wildlife Sketching and Facts with Jessica

    • November 9, 16, 23, 30 (4 sessions)
    • Ages 8-12

Kids will learn to sketch a different animal every week and learn animal fun facts.

🧑🏽‍💻 Build an Obstacle Course (3D) with UME Academy

    • November 16
    • Ages 7-12

In this introduction to building Unity games in 3D, kids will learn how to create a challenging obstacle course in which the player has to collect a final prize to win. They’ll learn along with their peers while giving and receiving feedback and playing each other’s games.

🧩 Word Games and Puzzles with Anna

    • November 22
    • Ages 5-9

Nuf si egaugnal–Language is fun! Your kid will build communication skills as they explore a variety of word games and puzzles. Through silly group challenges and interactive partner activities, we’ll explore word formation, word families, rhyming and parts of speech.

👾 Game Design Creator Camp with UME Academy

    • November 27 to December 1 (daily)
    • Ages 7-12

The Creator’s Camp allows advanced students to create their own custom game using an extensive game library. Over this 5-day camp, they will build an original game from the ground up, using their imaginations and skills learned in Levels 1 & 2. (Prerequisite: Video Game Design Levels 1 and 2)
