To support continued progress to “flatten the curve” while working towards a safe return to in-person learning, the British Columbia (BC) Ministry of Education has asked us to create a pandemic response plan. As an Online Learning school, SelfDesign Learning Community is well-positioned to support families during a gradual return to in-person activities.

Our pandemic response plan outlines our approach to return safely to in-person activities in phases, as it becomes appropriate. SelfDesign Learning Community will align our return to in-person activities such as camps with the Ministry of Health directives (which can change at any time) and the Ministry of Education directives for in-person instruction in brick-and-mortar schools, with some exceptions due to our online nature. You can view our Pandemic Response Plan here: SelfDesign Pandemic Response Plan.

As we work toward safely reintroducing in-person activities, we have cancelled specific in-person fall gatherings for the safety and well-being of our contractor and family community. These include all family visits, LocalLabs, the Fall Community Gathering, Fall Camp, and Jam Camp.

For learners and families, we will be offering virtual opportunities in the fall as we work towards possible in-person camps in January.
