SelfDesign Learning Community (online program with BC certified educator)
NEW and RETURNING learners who do NOT require SE Support Services:

- Grades 10-12: We currently have a waitlist. Add your name to the 2022/23 SelfDesign Waitlist to be notified if/when spaces become available.
NEW and RETURNING learners with an IEP or who require SE Support Services:

A technology-enabled school for learners from kindergarten to Grade 12
SELFDESIGN LEARNING COMMUNITY RETURNING LEARNERS
Re-enrolment for SelfDesign Learning Community from kindergarten to grade 12 is now full for the 2022-23 school year. We encourage interested applicants to add their names to the waitlist if you would like to be notified when spaces become available.
This includes learners who:
- would like to re-enrol for the 2022/23 learning year
- are currently enrolled in the SelfDesign Learning Community in 2022/23 and working with an educator
- are returning and received SupportEd (special education) services previously
- are siblings of learners who are currently enrolled or registered in 2021/22*
*To complete an enrolment application for SelfDesign Learning Community, please have the following documents ready:
Returning learners:
Proof of legal residency (showing name, physical address, and be dated within 90 days of today’s date) for the Primary Parent/Guardian in this application. The types of documentation acceptable by the Ministry of Education are any one of the following:
- Utility bill
- Drivers licence
- Credit card invoice
- Rental agreement (all pages)
- Mortgage statement
- British Columbia ID
- Municipal tax bill
- Notary authorization letter
Any new learners (or returning learners if the information below has changed) will need:
- BC Medical Card number for each learner
- A scanned (ready to upload) copy or image of the birth certificate for each learner
- Proof of legal citizenship
If not Canadian, documentation accepted by the Ministry of Education is any one of the following that are not expired:
- Permanent resident form/card
- Immigration Canada permit
- Immigration Canada Visa
- Canada Immigration Record of Landing Form
Additionally, where applicable, the following documentation will be required:
- Name of the last school attended for each learner
- Proof of custody
- Legal name changes
- Indigenous Ancestry
- Proof of Custody or Restraining Order

NEW LEARNERS TO SELFDESIGN’S ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM
Enrolment for SelfDesign Learning Community:
Kindergarten – Grade 9: Please click the orange bar at the bottom that says “K-9: Apply to Enrol” to fill out the application for your returning learner for the 2022-23 school year.
Grades 10-12: We are currently full. Please add your name to our waitlist to be contacted if a space becomes available.
Note that this list is not for applicants with designations or IEPs. Please see the Support Education waitlist for applicants who are in need of additional supports.
For learners who:
- would like to enrol for the 2022-23 learning year for Kindergarten – Grade 9
- will not access special education support

**Families applying for SupportED (special education) services
Please note that if you are applying for a learner who will be NEW to SelfDesign’s K-12 distributed learning program (including a sibling of a previously enrolled learner or learner previously registered in the SelfDesign Home Learning program) and your learner has had an Individual Education Plan previously or you anticipate requiring SupportEd (special education) services for a learner, you must have a conversation with our SupportEd Intake Coordinator in order to be provided the information and form required to apply. If you will have learners in both the general program and in SupportEd, please contact SupportEd Intake first at supported@selfdesign.org.

RETURNING LEARNERS RECEIVING SUPPORTED SERVICES*
We are full in all of our SupportEd Services right now. Please fill out the interest form to be added to the waitlist.
For learners who:
- have had an Individual Education Plan (IEP) previously;
- would benefit from special education support; or
- have had a BC Ministry of Education designation based on a previous assessment
If your child has a sibling already enrolled in SelfDesign, please contact SupportEd Intake at supported@selfdesign.org before enrolling your new learner.

A flexible option for parents who wish to homeschool their child

- are currently registered as homeschoolers in the SelfDesign Home Learning program
- are siblings of learners who are currently enrolled or registered in 2021-22

Please note that those who apply after September 30, 2021, will be required to pay a $50/learner processing fee.
