From songwriting about animals to designing tiny paper villages and coding their own games, April is full of hands-on ways for learners to explore what lights them up.
This month’s line-up invites kids to create, experiment and think differently, whether that’s drawing with their opposite hand, diving into permaculture design or building ancient worlds in Minecraft Education.

🐘 Animal Songs & Art Adventures with Dee: April 7 (4 sessions)

Your child will learn fun facts about different animals, then make up and sing songs about them. They’ll explore rhythm, melody, creativity and teamwork, then draw their animal to express what they’ve learned through art and music!
🪡 Cozy Crafters Club 2: Sewing with Jenn: April 9 (3 sessions)

Children will learn different embroidery stitches and work on creating a fabric gift bag! Experienced sewers can bring their own projects and share their talents with others!
🧑🏿💻 Scratch Jr: Learn the Basics with Corrina: April 13 (3 sessions)

- Ages 5-7
Use Scratch Jr., a beginner-friendly app, to learn the basics of coding! Children will start with the fundamentals and eventually create their own unique, interactive animations, stories, and games.
👋🏾 Opposite Hands: Draw with a Twist! with April: April 14 (2 sessions)

- Ages 8-11
Your child will use their opposite hand to sketch step-by-step animals, trees and nature-inspired art! Switching hands helps them slow down, focus on shapes, and embrace the beauty of imperfection, while strengthening creativity, patience, and hand-eye coordination!
🏩 Paper Village Studio with Walter: April 17 (4 sessions)

Children will design a collection of paper buildings in Canva, then bring them together to form a complete village. They’ll explore colour, layout and visual design, then get to print, fold and assemble each structure!
🌿 Permaculture – Designing with Nature with Lee Ann: April 20 (4 sessions)

Your child will learn how thoughtful design creates abundance and care for the Earth. They’ll discover connections between plants, water, animals and people, then create their own permaculture design based on where they live!
🧩 Minecraft Education: Coding with Heather: April 22 (4 sessions)

Children will use problem-solving skills, teamwork and coding to navigate different Minecraft Education coding challenges each week. Choose drag-and-drop block coding or explore writing code in text. Minecraft Education program download required.
🧩 Minecraft Education: Historical Journeys with Heather: April 23 (4 sessions)

- Ages 10-13
Your child will explore famous historical structures using Minecraft Education. They’ll sleuth out the when, why, where, how and who of each construction by solving cooperative puzzles, then re-imagine how they could be built today!
📖 Reading Explorers with Alecyn: April 23 (6 sessions)

Children will engage in a multi-sensory approach to early reading! Each week they’ll play games, sing songs, rhyme rhymes and build their own phoneme deck to practice reading with.
✍️ Creative Writing Club with Alecyn: April 29 (4 sessions)

Have a ton of fun learning about writing and responding to wild and zany writing prompts! Children will learn about the elements of language, play writing games and share fun and silly stories!
