👽 Make an Alien with Alecyn

Sept 2 + 24 (2 sessions) Ages 7-9
Design an alien inspired by NASA’s exploration of Europa, one of Jupiter’s largest moons. Kids will learn about the environmental factors that lead astrophysicists to believe that this moon might support life and then use their imagination to create an amazing alien species to inhabit it.

Sept 2 (5 sessions) Ages 8-11

Key signatures, tempos, rhythms, instruments, composition, arrangement, and how different music affects us – your kids will learn all about music and the different elements that are used in creating it!

🍏 Seasonal STEAM Hour – Apple Science with Alecyn

Sept 3 and 17 (2 sessions) Ages 5-7

Get ready to explore apple anatomy and the life cycle of the fruit! After, kids will use the fruit to explore density and buoyancy, and even make awesome apple stamp art!

Explore a business idea and create a lean business plan!  In this activity, kids will explore their own business idea and investigate the major functional areas of a business. Then they will create a lean business plan to set their plan in motion.

Sept 8, 15, 22, 29 Ages 5-7
Kids will explore the French language through movement, games, and creating art. No French needed to enjoy discovering and succeeding in learning a new language. Come to one or come to all!

Sept 8 Ages 5-7

Together we will use Scratch Jr., a beginner-friendly app, to learn the basics of coding. Your kids will begin with the basics, and eventually apply these skills to create their own unique and interactive animations, stories and games.

🪘Drumming 101 – Feel the Beat with April

    • Sept 9 Ages 8-11

Get ready to drum, tap, and groove! Kids will explore the basics of drumming by learning essential beats, rhythms, and techniques to build a strong foundation. We’ll practice hand coordination, timing, and dynamic patterns. Through fun exercise and games, kids will develop their musicality and confidence. No experience needed, just bring your energy and get ready to feel the beat!

    • Sept 11 Ages 8-13

Kids will focus on the basics of knitting and crochet, even without tools (finger knitting!). Experienced knitters and crochet artists welcome, bring your own project and share your talents with others!

    • Sept 11, 18, 25 Ages 9-12

Embark on a musical journey around the globe! Using the song Nations of the World, kids will learn to name and locate countries while exploring fascinating facts about each one. Through research and group discussions, we’ll dive into the unique animals, natural wonders, and delicious foods that make each country special.

🥾 Geocaching Club with Heather

    • Sept 11 and 18 Ages 10-14

‘Geo’ means land, and a ‘cache’ is something that is hidden. Your kids will plan routes to look for geocaches hidden on trails in your area, learn about geocaching safety, make and hide your own geocache with your family.

    • Sept 12 (4 sessions) Ages 9-12

Learn about castles throughout history and eventually design your own!

Your kids will explore castles worldwide in a GeoGuessr challenge, study historical context and architecture, invent fictional dominions, then design and refine their own castles.
