October is the perfect month for cozy creativity, teamwork and confidence-building!

This month, your kids can explore new skills in art, writing, theatre, music and movement, while making lasting connections with their home learning peers!

From The Great Writing Challenge to the very popular Fall Play, and from Sketch with Watercolour to October Monday 9 a.m. Yoga, this month’s line-up is full of opportunities to learn and play.

✍️ Sketch with Watercolour with Amber: October 2 or 30

    • Ages 10-14

Develop watercolour skills through observational painting of nature items! Kids will learn about colour theory, palettes and monochromatic art-making approaches.

🧘🏿‍♂️ October Monday 9 a.m. Yoga with Sarah: October 6 (4 sessions)

    • Ages 10-18

Your kid will build their yoga practice over three weeks. They’ll learn the main muscle groups of the body while developing techniques to calm the nervous system and deepen their breath. (No class October 13, Thanksgiving holiday.)

📌 Create a Business Logo with Trisha: October 6 (5 sessions)

    • Ages 8-11 or Ages 12-16

Design a professional logo! Your kid will explore branding, colour, typography and imagery, and practice giving and receiving feedback. Using Canva Education’s Logo Maker, they’ll create a unique logo for their business or project. (No class October 13, Thanksgiving holiday.)

🫜 Creative Garden Club with Amber: October 8 (4 sessions)

    • Ages 9-12

Your kiddo will love turning their fall gardening adventures into art! They’ll create a handmade book to record plans, drawings and discoveries, map out how to prepare the garden for winter, and start dreaming ahead to spring bulbs and blooms.

🔬 Experiment and Explore: Science Project with Heather: October 8 (8 sessions)

    • Ages 10-16

Your kid will learn to design and carry out a science project using the inquiry process! They’ll brainstorm ideas, test hypotheses, make observations and present their discoveries at a fun mini-science fair!

    • Ages 9-15

Your kiddo will love exploring the art of beautiful lettering! They’ll practice different calligraphy styles, learn the history of each, and create elegant hand-drawn writing to share.

    • Ages 11-15

Play Minecraft Education as a team to solve coding puzzles! Your kid will use problem-solving skills, teamwork, and coding to navigate different Minecraft Education coding challenges each week!

🍂 Fall Play with Alecyn and Jenn: October 14 (7 sessions)

    • Ages 9-14

Kids will write, direct, and act in a mystery-themed production, play acting games, design costumes, and perform live for family and friends in a final Zoom show!

📝 The Great Writing Challenge with Alecyn: October 15 (8 sessions)

    • Ages 11-14

Your kid will learn to plan and build the foundation for their own novel! They’ll develop characters, worldbuild and set writing goals for National Novel Writing Month in November, with weekly prompts and progress check-ins.
